Hillary Clinton gave to charity that money donated by Democratic fund raiser Norman Hsu. Mr. Hsu turned out to be a fugitive from justice. In 1991 he pleaded no contest to a charge of grand theft after he admitted that he had defrauded investors of $1 million. Then he just never showed for his sentenced. Instead he kept on making money and donating to political campaigns, including Mrs. Clinton’s.
His political donations brought him publicity and the notice of the San Mateo, California, Superior Court. He was scheduled to appear in court on September 5, but guess what? He never showed up. He was also supposed to turn in his passport, but he didn’t do that either.
Democratic candidate Dr. Carl Perrin is glad that Mr. Hsu never donated any money to his campaign. He would hate to have to give it back.
